Cardamom Pound Cake

In a standing mixer add,
3 sticks of soft butter
1 8oz. cream cheese
Beat 4 minutes.

Add
3 cups of sugar
8 eggs, mixing in eggs one at a time.

Add
2 Tablespoons pure vanilla
2 Tablespoons excellent quality, cardamom

Add
3 cups of flour, mix gently.

Pour into 3 greased and floured loaf pans and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
(Toothpick should come out clean)

Cool in pan for 10 minutes and turn on rack to cool.

This is a very moist, dense, cake.

Without the cardamom, it makes an excellent pound cake or strawberry shortcake.

If you use a bundt pan, make sure it is large enought to hold all the batter. I used a ten inch bundt pan it was too full and spilled over the top.
I bought this  10 1/2 inch bundt pan   Shouldn't be more than 3/4 full.  The bundt pan needs to cook for 90 minutes.  You may need to cover with foil to avoid over browning.  Now you see why I went for the loaf pans!
You can see it turned out beautifully. However, when I looked closer the very bottom, had a few spots that were not done.  I will try it for ten minutes longer and see if that finishes it.
Cook for an hour without foil, but check at 50 minutes to see how brown the top is, then add tinfoil for last thirty minutes.
